The MLBB mid-season cup 2025 China qualifier in 2025 was not just a day of the game but a well-known, respected esports event where Mobile Legends teams from China competed for a golden ticket to the big stage. Running from May 29 to June 15, this mid-season cup qualifier determined which teams earned the opportunity of a lifetime to go to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for MSC 2025, as part of the esports World Cup.
The qualifier had 12 teams. The 12 teams consisted of five invited elite teams (the best finishers from MSI 2025 and China Stage 2) and seven teams that made it through open qualifiers. Each team played in groups of four (3-team groups), and competed in GSL format, playing best-of-three matches to determine who would advance from the group. From each group, the top two moved on to the double-elimination knockout stage, using best-of-five matches for each round.
It wasn’t a pride thing; it was about a quota spot. The winner of the qualifier would automatically take an off the Group Stage of MSC 2025, while the runner-up would take a Wildcard stage spot, meaning they would have one last chance to get into the main event.
DianFengYaoGuai, the champions, have received a coveted spot in the main stage of MSC 2025, while Rare Atom did not take home the championship, but as the runner-up, they take home one of the ONE spots available in the Wildcard stage, to also qualify for the world tournament.
For a long time, China has been an elite region in MLBB. If China had no teams or a poor performance, it wouldn't only be detrimental for national pride, but it would also be detrimental for the tournament as a competitive tournament. The fact that two teams were able to qualify for the MSC (DianFengYaoGuai and Rare Atom) is indicative of the depth of the region, and it also shows that China is still on the world stage, which was important before MSC 2025.
Now, DianFengYaoGuai and Rare Atom head to a heavy international field in Riyadh. MSC 2025 will feature a Wildcard Stage (July 10–13), then the Group Stage and Knockout Rounds, with the Grand Finals on August 2, where a team will walk away with the $3 million prize pool.
The MLBB Mid-Season Cup 2025 China Qualifier was more than a series of games; it was a battleground full of pressure for Chinese MLBB teams. The qualifier tested their consistency, clutch performance, and ability to perform under pressure. It was, without a doubt, the kind of regional difficulty that develops a global exhibition, whether you're a fan or a participant.
It is a tournament where the best Mobile Legends teams in China compete to qualify for the MSC 2025. The number one winner qualifies directly for the main stage; the number two winner gets into the Wildcard.
It took place from May 29th to June 15th, 2025, with a bunch of invited teams and teams from the open qualifier.
DianFengYaoGuai qualified and participated in the main stage, while Rare Atom and their second-place finish participated in the Wildcard stage.
It showcases the best talents of China, as well as keeping the region competitive on a world stage for MSC 2025.
