For a long time, boxing fans felt forgotten in the gaming world. Football had many titles. Racing had many choices. Boxing had memories. That changed with Esports Disputed, a game built slowly, carefully, and with respect for the sport.
After almost five years of development, Esports Undisputed is ready to step into the ring. It launches on October 11 for PlayStation 5 and stands as the first major boxing game in over a decade. This is not just another sports game. It is a full boxing experience.
Esport undisputed started life as Esports Boxing Club. It was a small project by Steel City Interactive, led by CEO Ash Habib. The goal was simple but bold: make the most realistic boxing game ever created.
Over time, the project grew. More fighters joined. Better technology was added. The vision became clearer. Eventually, the game evolved into Undisputed, a name that reflects its confidence and ambition.
One of the biggest things that make esport undisputed stand out is the fighter roster. More than 70 licensed boxers are part of the game when it first comes out. These are not just some random names. They are legends and champions of the present day.
Canelo Álvarez, Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Roy Jones Jr., Joe Frazier- these are some of the boxers you can play as in the game.
Different in every way is how each boxer is made to feel. Their speed, power, stance, and movement are a reflection of how they do things in real life. It is not just a matter of choosing a fighter. You choose a way to fight.
Realism is the core of esports undisputed. The development team relies on full-body scans to get fighters as accurately as possible. The scans enable them to reconstruct muscles, veins, skin texture, hair, and even sweat.
In case of retired legends, the team resorts to a special de-ageing method. This way, the players get an opportunity to see the fighters as if they were in their physical prime. Francesco Primiceri stated that it is deep research which is at the basis of this method. To reconstruct a fighter's prime, the team looks at old pictures, fight footage, and references from several angles.
The fighters are so authentic both from a distance and up close that they do not come across as game models. They feel alive.
We all know that boxing is not only about giving one punch after another. It also involves the aspects of movement, balance, and timing. Esports undisputed takes advantage of motion capture technology to record professional fighters performing their everyday, natural movements.
Performance of various footwork, jabs, hooks, dodges, slips, and even taunts is captured. For example, if you take control of a boxer like Oleksandr Usyk, the intention is to make you feel that you are actually moving the way he does in real life.
In fact, Dalton Smith, a British boxing champion, was very involved in the game developers' work. Besides acting out his own movements, he was able to help the developers with the art of the boxers from the olden days. No doubt, this kind of work is a great way to keep boxing history alive in the game.
There is a famous boxing saying. Esports definitely take this to heart.
To add real-world authenticity, the developers even collaborated with CompuBox to infuse the game characters with real data of the boxers. Punches' accuracy, stamina, power, and defence are all modelled after the fighters' actual records.
A heavy hitter like Deontay Wilder will naturally have really strong knockout power. On the other hand, a legend like Rocky Marciano will be blessed with excellent stamina. Both player-controlled and AI opponents get affected by these attributes.
It's not about button smashing at all. It is about getting to know your fighter and cleverly using their strengths.
Esports undisputed is realistic; however, it is not unfair. The basics can be taught to the new players, whereas the experienced ones can master advanced techniques.
Clean and precise punches are more frequently rewarded by judges than reckless activity. You have to take care of your stamina. If you throw too many punches too fast, you'll get tired, and your opponent will attack you. Most games are won by points, not knockouts, which favors clever and steady players.
The different training modes allow players to work on their defense, dodging and timing. With practice, the opponents' patterns become easier to anticipate, and the skills improve naturally.
Esports Undisputed features several ways to get into the game. Career, solo fights, and online modes give players different options for playing boxing.
The Deluxe WBC Edition drops on Oct 8, allowing players to get in early. The Standard Edition launches on October 11 for PS5. The updates will likely bring more content and fighters.
Esports undisputed isn't just a revival of boxing games. It makes a statement that sports games can still be developed with care, patience, and a deep respect for realism.
This is the game that brings the sound of the bell back to boxing for fans after years of silence. The ring is set. The fighters are warmed up. And boxing is now back, where it really belongs.
Esports Undisputed is a very realistic boxing video game that features real fighter scans, motion capture, and genuine boxing styles for the gameplay to be as close to reality as possible.
Esports Undisputed is coming out on October 11 on PlayStation 5, and if you get the Deluxe Edition, you'll also have early access.
Esports Undisputed prioritises punch accuracy, stamina management, real-world stats, and unique fighter movements to provide a genuine boxing experience.
The game features over 70 licensed boxers, including modern champions and legendary fighters from boxing history.
